A Message from Peri Gordon:
LCDP/Indivisible BBQ update. Looking at the long term weather forecast, it looks like there is a 50% chance of rain on the 6/17 date of our event. Given the severity of the storms we’ve been having lately, we have a built in rain date of June 24th, same place, same time. Look for a notice by Wednesday, 6/14, if we decide we have to postpone.
Also wanted to provide more information about the event.
We plan to have BLUE balloons on the sign at the entrance to Golden Avenue just off of Highway 60 between the end of 400 and downtown Dahlonega. There will be additional signage directing you to the venue and the parking area.
PARKING will be in the upper Appalachian Outfitter parking lot immediately to the left as you turn onto Golden Avenue. You will be given a colored piece of paper to put on your dash to indicate to the employees that you are attending our event.
SHUTTLE service will be provided from the event compliments of the Appalachian Outfitters. If you have food or other items, you can drive to the venue to drop them off before returning to the parking area.
We are providing BBQ (pork and turkey), hotdogs, bread, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, and sauces. If you would like to bring a dessert or a side dish not listed, please do.
Soft drinks will be provided by the 9th District Federation of Democratic Women. Feel free to BYO alcoholic beverages for yourself or to share.
We are thrilled that Josh McCall, candidate for the 9th district US House of Representatives’ seat, as well as Dr. Sid Chapman, candidate for Georgia State School Superintendent will be attending and speaking to us. Other local candidates will also be attending. We are sure that you will be just as impressed with these two individuals as we are. Feel free to come prepared to donate to their campaigns.
The $15 per attendee suggested donation will be used to cover the expenses related to this event. Any profits will go to support our democratic candidates.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones
