What is the ACCDC Candidate Training Program?
The Athens-Clarke County Democrat’s Candidate Development Committee has undertaken the task of creating a year-long candidate training program in order to assist candidates and potential candidates in preparing to run for office — now, next year, or in the future. Our trainings are getting off the ground now! If you are a potential candidate — if you have ever thought of running for office — then please consider joining us for the next training.
How can I help?
To assist in this endeavor, we need to gather names and contact information for subject-matter experts in the Athens area who would be willing to volunteer just a few hours of their time once or twice per year. The training program will tentatively cover the following topics:
  • Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission
  • Staff Roles and Responsibilities
  • Budget Planning
  • Fundraising
  • VoteBuilder Training
  • Field Strategy
  • Social Media for Candidates
  • Earned Media vs. Paid Media
  • Poll Watcher Training for Election Day
If you or someone you know holds expertise in any of these topics then please have them write to francesberry218@gmail.com.
