OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT YOUR DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
This meeting of the DPG will be held in Atlanta for the purpose of organizing planning and developing a platform for the General Elections in November. (Specific Agenda not available.)
From the Charter of the Democratic Party of Georgia
“SECTION 2. DUTIES (Of the Convention)
C3.2 The State Convention may adopt Party policy, legislative platforms, nominate and elect State Party Officers and Congressional District Chairs, conduct any business that could beconducted at a regular State Committee meeting, and act upon other matters it deems necessary.”
“SECTION 3. DELEGATES (Just 2 days left for selection of delegates from counties – See by-laws for details)
C3.3.1 All State Committee Members, regular and ex-officio, shall be delegates.
C3.3.2 Each Affiliate Organization may elect one delegate.
C3.3.3 The current State Party nominee for Governor may appoint up to 2 additional delegates per State Senate District. ”
C3.3.4 In addition to the above, each County may elect up to twice as many delegates as that County is entitled to State Committee Members and as many alternates as that County is entitled to State Committee Members. These elected delegates do not have to be County Committee members. The method for election shall be provided in the Bylaws.”

UPDATE John Barrow Democratic nominee for Secretary of State and Otha Thornton nominee for State School Superintendent will join other invited statewide and district candidates. This event will be for all 2018 candidates and the community to come together for fun and to get to know our candidates. There is power in numbers, so we are inviting you to be a part of this grand event. We believe a multi-county event of this magnitude can help move GA Blue.
There will be a candidate luncheon, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; event starts at 12:00; candidate speeches, 1:00-2:00 p.m. Food Trucks, live music, games, fun for kids, etc.
